PMI Partnership Announcement with Oncology Practice Management Coincides with National Launch of New Certification for Oncology Practice Managers

Press Releases

CRANBURY, NJ – JULY 23, 2020 – Practice Management Institute today proudly announces that it has partnered with Oncology Practice Management (OPM), the nation’s leading resource for oncology practice staff, in conjunction with the national release of its Certified Medical Office Manager certification for Hematology and Oncology practice leaders.

This partnership supports an ongoing effort by PMI and OPM to enhance the knowledge base of practice leaders through education. The goal of the collaboration is to advance the education of oncology practice managers by providing resources by the industry experts, and to create a standard of excellence nationally with the CMOM-HEM/ONC certification.

Originally created for and offered by the Michigan Society of Hematology and Oncology, the initiative was expanded last year to candidates in Iowa, Washington, Texas, and Alaska. In 2020, with the support of OPM, the certification will be available in all 50 states.

CMOM-HEM/ONC certification helps develop the manager’s knowledge and skills combined with experience to successfully manage the ever-changing landscape of the healthcare industry. Expertise gained in this program can protect providers from risks, motivate employees, and improve the oncology practice’s financial outlook. Managers will learn to take charge of their practice’s administrative issues so that providers can focus on the quality of patient care.
